Challenge: How to celebrate a rich and bountiful marriage?
Fifty years of togetherness has love at its heart. For me, this sculpture seemed an apt concept to illustrate this union and where better than on top of the world!
There is a story to tell, one that can immerse you in an never-ending story of joy and commitment. This sculpture celebrates Paul & Marguerite’s golden wedding anniversary and the storytelling that involves family and the global achievements of them both.
A world in the making.
Paul briefed me to create a piece that told a story and one that was to remain under wraps until the great reveal.
Paul and I met secretly while Marguerite was off to painting classes or volunteering locally.
Working from a small maquette, I embarked on creating the piece that we see today, a unique hand-crafted sculpture in resin, full of charm and delight.
As an outdoor piece, it will stand proud in the garden circumnavigated by all who visit and to hear the stories that ignite the memories of a wonderful life.
I plotted with jewel-like sybols around the globe signifying the family's births, weddings and home locations, of which there were many!
